Beautiful weekends in London!

We are so spoiled! We had two great weekends in a row with superb weather. The sun was out on Saturday and Sunday. I never complained about London weather. I didn't think it was too bad. But when we had this type of weekends, I was so excited and happy to see the sun.

Two weeks ago, I went to South Bank market with Jessica. We had a miscommunication. I thought we were just going to meet at the market, which was closed to Waterloo Station. She thought we were meeting at the Waterloo station. Half an hour later, we found each other and grabbed something to eat. I'm normally pretty good with picking good food and never got stuck with bad food choice, but not this time around. There were Korean BBQ, which I didn't pick since I went to a Korean restaurant with Amelia last night, Indian, lots of baked goodies, and Mediterranean, that sold chick peas and lamb wraps. I opted for the chick pea salad with pita on the side. I should've known better. The lady was a Brit. They don't season their food well. I think that's one of the reasons British food is that great. I was disappointed. There was almost no taste. I couldn't finish it, and got an apple and cinnamon fried pirogi. Not good for you but it's good. I think London's open market is something that I will miss so much when I go back to the US. I just love the vibe.

Since it was so nice, after we ate, we walked around by the Thames. We found a booth that sold boat cruise tickets. It's less than 10 pounds to go from Waterloo to London Bridge and back to Westminster. We decided to do it. It felt so good being in the sun and the wind brushed through your hair. The tour captain was quite funny too. We went under several bridges, Tower Bridge, Millennium and Westminster, not sure if I missed anything else.

London Eye. The blue sky just made it so glorious.

We got off at Westminster, walked past the Abbey, Churchill Room and headed to St. James park and hung out there for a while. Loads of people having picnics in the park. I had never seen Pelicans before in London. Here they are. Hanging out in St. James Park.

We ended the afternoon by going to Wholefood at Piccadilly Circus. Some grocery shopping and headed home.

The following weekend was also gorgeous. I dragged Jess to Greenwich. I was face timing with Grace, Kyle and my parents in the morning. We didn't plan on it but it was good. This is the first I face timed with my parents. I need to do this more often. We met up by the Cutty Sark station around noon. The market was crowded but not overly crowded. I got an Indian platter. I never had Indian cheese before. It tasted pretty good. It's nutty and chewy. We ate at the park because there was no seats available in the market. Greenwich park is really nice. It was wide open, very green and in the middle of the Royal Observatory and Maritime Museum.
From the top of the hill by the Meridian Line, you can see London.

Not sure what this red ball is but the ball dropped once a day. We were there when it was moving down.
